Job Details

We are currently seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join a well-established, family-run SME based in Chester. While working on your own day to day, you would also be working closely with and directly reporting to the general manager. The goal for this position is to ensure you maintain and upkeep the companies bookkeeping procedures and to work closely with their accountants so monthly accounts can be produced.

Key responsibilities and duties of this role...
  • Reconciling Sales ledger
  • Reconciling Purchase ledger
  • Processing supplier payments
  • Reconciling & processing VAT returns
  • Maintaining and reconciling the cash book & bank reconciliation
  • Processing all non-purchase ledger transactions
  • Handling & Resolving customer accounts queries
  • Processing recurring journals
  • Processing wages journal and paying PAYE
  • Giving administrative support to accountants
  • Processing customer account application requests and ongoing account monitoring
  • Credit control
  • Handling the accounts and email accounts
  • Collating & producing general reporting as required
  • Assisting with rolling stock takes
  • Collating, documenting & reviewing finance department task processes & in turn identifying areas that could be streamlined
  • General office admin duties
  • Add hock EA work for Directors
  • Management Accounts analysis & reporting
  • Setting Up & Managing full department budgets

The ideal candidate will have the following skills, attributes and qualifications...
  • AAT qualified or qualified by experience
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise daily tasks
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Able to problem solve and use own initiative
  • Excellent computer skills and able to learn new systems
  • Ability to extract data and configure reports

Hours: Monday-Friday- 7:30am - 4pm / 8:00am - 4:30pm
