The Peel is a financially sustainable grassroots charity that works with the local community to develop creative activities that bring people together, from street parties to local newspapers. We are a friendly organisation that aims to be as diverse as the neighbourhood. We are looking for someone with legal experience to join our board. If you are as passionate about creating connected communities in Clerkenwell we would love to hear from you.
What are we looking for?
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- Legal experience
- A passion for making Clerkenwell a more connected community
- A willingness to devote the necessary time and effort to their duties as a trustee
- Good, independent judgment
- The ability to think creatively
- Willingness to speak their mind and work effectively as a member of a team
What difference will you make?
As a trustee of The Peel you will provide oversight and accountability, ensuring our plans and overall approach are in keeping with our mission to build a more connected community from which everyone can benefit.
What’s in it for the volunteer?
This is an exciting opportunity to join the board of a financial stable and innovative organisation that is striving to support people who are isolated or living on low incomes so that they are able to participate in their neighbourhood.
The Board meets four times per year. Trustees are also expected to join a sub committee which involves a further four meetings per year. Meetings take place in the evening and are currently video meetings, although previously they have taken place at our community centre, 3 Corners.
