Bid writing in professional services is a great outlet for creative and technical content. You take the information from the technical knowledge holders, sprinkle some gold dust over it, give it a polish and turn it into a winning business stream.
Alternatively you build internal relationships, manage the process with multiple stakeholders, research and understand the content, understand the key goals and requirements of the client and write meaningful and clear content to meet those needs. You follow up whether you win or lose and share the learnings that come from that result and you do this with multiple bids on a constantly revolving basis.
It is a hard job but a rewarding one and as a career base this job opportunity allows you to continue developing the basis for a high growth career in a top law firm within the marketing and BD function. You will need to have done a Bid writing role before and ideally have an educational background involving content creation - a degree in English, Media, PR, content etc. for example. One better would be that you are studying for a professional qualification via the APMP. Ideally you will also have worked in a law firm or another professional service partnership so that you can demonstrate an understanding of the culture and relationship challenges that exist in these environments.
This role could provide you with a real springboard into a future Bid Manager position. It will be based out of Liverpool or Manchester (although you will likely be required to spend a minimum of 2 days a week in the Liverpool office) and there is an opportunity to further discuss flexible working dependent on your requirements.
