Group Legal Director - Gambling Industry
Remote based within the United Kingdom

Our client is one of the iGaming industry's leading developers of online casino content, and providers of land based slot machines. This is one of Europe's most well-respected providers of slot content, holding a large market share, and having won many of the most prestigious awards in the industry. Our client is highly ambitious and further international expansion is now planned, with North America a particular focus. Offering a fast paced and dynamic environment, you will benefit from an inclusive culture where the business operates very much as a team. As the business continues to grow, they are now looking to recruit an in-house Legal Director to act as Sole Counsel.

Responsibilities
As Legal Director you will be involved with providing legal advice across three group companies. Key responsibilities will include:
  • Provide commercial legal support, notably in contract management with both suppliers and customers
  • Co-ordinate regulatory matters using external support
  • Oversee new licensing applications in North America utilising local external counsel
  • Support the board on making key strategic decisions
  • Advise on internal employment law when required
  • Involvement in potential future M&A activity

Requirements:
To be considered for this position you will ideally have experience within the gambling industry. However, strong candidates with experience in industries such as Technology or Licensing will also be considered.
  • Qualified practicing solicitor of 5+ years PQE
  • Strong in-house experience
  • Proven background in the gambling industry ideally, but those from Technology or Licensing also considered
  • Excellent judgement and analytical skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Broad and adaptable legal knowledge (IP & commercial, corporate, gambling, litigation, employment law, etc)
  • High degree of professional ethics, integrity and gravitas
