Within the role of Legal Secretary your duties will include:
To prepare correspondence and documents, litigation and residential conveyancing
Administration of client files, which will include daily filing and the opening, closing, storage and retrieval of files.
Endeavor to resolve client and third party queries where applicable without fee earner intervention and pass any urgent and/or outstanding issues to the fee earner for guidance.
Demonstrate a proactive attitude towards continuous improvement and development.
To ensure billing is completed on a monthly basis.
Apply for legal aid certificates and complete all necessary forms.
To ensure the confidentiality of all the firm's and client's documentation and information.
On a daily basis, your duties will include undertaking all written correspondance, land registry/SDLT searches and exchanges of contract on behalf of the Residential Conveyancing fee earner
Answering calls from clients and any other general secretarial duties.
You will also be required to work to tight deadlines, prioritise a busy workload and produce accurate work.
Excellent Word, Excel, tracked changes and document formatting skills
Efficient and well organized, used to working with confidential information
An effective communicator, who is confident dealing with clients and third parties
The ability to work to deadlines
Working unsupervised at times
BENEFITS & SALARY:
This is a permanent role, salary upto £20 -22k dependent upon experience, 20 days hol plus stats, pension, onsite cafe, modern building also on a bus route
