You the Junior Merchandiser will work to support the Senior Merchandiser to ensure all of the company's are marketed across both online and wholesale functions. You will work as part of the team that is responsible for forecasting trends, planning and buying stock in the correct quantities whilst monitoring performance.

Client Details

A growing British brand in the Scarborough area. The brand draws inspiration from top athletes, celebrities, and influencers around the world. They are looking to expand their merchandising team.

  • Analyse sales figures, customers reactions and market trends to anticipate product needs
  • Collaborate with buyers, suppliers, distributors, and analysts to negotiate prices, quantities, and timescales
  • Maximise customer interest and sales levels by displaying products appropriately
  • Monitor stock movement and consider markdowns, promotions, price changes, clear outs etc
  • Build constructive customer relationships and team with channel partners to build pipeline and close deals
  • Remain up to date with industry's best practices
  • Planning product ranges and preparing sales and stock plans in conjunction with buyers
  • Maintain and Analyse appropriate data
  • Forecasting profits and sales, and optimising the sales volume and profitability of designated product areas
  • Analyse sales statistics, produce sales projections and present spreadsheets and graphs
  • Analysing every aspect of bestsellers (for example, the bestselling price points, colours or styles) and ensuring that they reach their full potential
  • Maintaining awareness of competitors' performance
  • Monitoring slow sellers and taking action to reduce prices or set promotions as necessary
  • Gathering information on customers' reactions to products
  • Analysing the previous season's sales and reporting on the current season's lines

  • Previous experience in merchandising
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Commercial acumen
  • Relevant degree level qualification
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills
  • The ability to work under pressure in a dynamic environment and to quickly identify problems and recommend solutions
  • Sound decision-making skills and the ability to plan and prioritise
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • The capability to work well as part of a team and to build and maintain effective working relationships with a range of people
  • Strong commercial acumen and the ability to understand what will appeal to customers
  • Excellent IT literacy and Advanced knowledge of Excel
