Accounts Assistant with Tax


Salary £18,000 - £TBA

Salary dependent on experience and qualifications

Our client is continuing to expand their team and are now looking for an enthusiastic accounts Assistant with experience of Tax to join their small friendly team. The successful candidate will be confident in assisting with the accounting and tax requirements for SME's.

Main responsibilities include:

Preparing statutory accounts for Limited Companies, Sole Traders, Partnerships, Individuals, Trusts and Charities
Preparing monthly and quarterly bookkeeping files as required, this includes analysing manual records and reconciling control accounts
Preparing quarterly VAT returns
Preparing corporation tax computations and corporation tax returns
Preparing personal tax computations and personal tax returns
Liaising with H M Revenue & Customs and Companies House on behalf of clients
Assisting with adhoc duties including general administrative tasks where required
Reporting direct to the manager/partner. All work to be reviewed by the manager/partner

Experience/ requirements:

Accountancy practice experience is essential (2 years minimum)

Confident assisting in all areas of tax

CCH, Sage Line 50 and Microsoft Excel all essential

Full UK Driving Licence - may occasionally be required to travel to other local offices.

Job type:

Full-time position Mon-Fri 09:00 - 17:00

Study support (to be provided upon successfully completing the 6 month probationary period)

25 days holiday (plus bank holidays)


AAT Qualified (minimum)


Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Good written and verbal communication skills
