Please note this is a part time post and the salary for this position will be pro-rata.
The post holder has continuing responsibility for orthoptic services for a defined geographical area within Lanarkshire. Is responsible for organisation and management ensuring that appropriate levels of service are provided, ensuring safe and effective patient care whilst meeting agreed targets for quality and activity. Critically reviewing all orthoptic procedures and practices in order to improve the patient pathway where necessary through redesign of the service.
Be responsible for the innovative Lanarkshire Orthoptic/Optometry Shared Care Scheme, encompassing the hospital and community based optometrists.
Provide clinical leadership to a team of Orthoptic staff and act as a key source of advice and expertise on Orthoptic matters to a variety of stakeholders, internal and external to NHS Lanarkshire.
