Skills People Group are a national provider of NVQ, Programmes for the unemployed and Compliance training. We specialise in both commercial and funded training and are proud to be nationally recognised as one of the UK's largest private training providers. We are currently recruiting for a highly organised, qualified Group Teaching and Learning / Quality Manager to join our existing team.

Role Overview:

The purpose of the role is to provide outstanding leadership and management for the quality arrangements as part of the organisation. You will develop and implement clear, focused plans that promote quality and deliver our mission and the drive for continual improvement will be your key driver.

You will lead on developing and improving effective Teaching and Learning practice. To innovate and enhance work based and employer led design, development and delivery to inspire teams to provide excellent teaching and learning and an outstanding experience for learners and employers.

To take leadership for strategic overview and implementation of Teaching, Learning and Assessment across the group.

To take strategic leadership of learning systems and processes for Teaching and Learning. To support the embedding of the wider learning agenda for all staff across the business, including the embedding of the business approach for Maths and English.

You will and support innovation and quality improvements for all activities linked to quality and performance within the Group.

The role will report directly into the Group Head of Quality & Performance.

The successful candidate will undertake the following main Duties and Responsibilities:

To ensure areas for improvement are quickly identified and addressed with a focus on being judged at Good / Outstanding during an OFSTED inspection

Leadership and Management of all processes and policies aligned to quality and customer experience

Lead and inspire teams to provide excellence through the delivery of outstanding teaching, learning and skills developments to improve our outcomes

To drive forward a companywide strategy with the support of members from the quality team and standards of the board

To work with other managers to ensure that all necessary infrastructure, systems and processes are in place in order that learners are able to learn in a safe, supportive and welcoming environment

Ensure outstanding quality of the learner experience and achievement and to co-ordinate and manage survey activities

To co-ordinate the data collection process using Management Information Systems and associated benchmarking processes and using data provided from student surveys ensure that data is valid, timely and prepared to meet the requirements of Ofsted

Promote embedding of English and Maths, (following SPAG guidance), Equality and Diversity, Safeguarding, British Values and Prevent

To support all delivery staff to improve performance on observation grades awarded

To support all Managers in identifying and implementing strategies for raising standards and narrowing the gap in achievement and attainment rates for all learners and groups of learners

To support in the Implementation of an effective process and data capture to strengthen customer feedback

To manage the self-assessment process at local level and produce the SAR and QIP in conjunction with business expectations

To work corporately to develop the quality of provision to the highest standard. To ensure areas of weaknesses and or inadequacy, as well as quality improvement are addressed

To drive forward a companywide strategy on continuous improvement for learning with relentless focus on outstanding experiences for our staff, employers, and apprentices

Lead and ensure that our teams put learners and employers at the heart of the business resulting in life changing employment opportunities

To ensure that rigorous tracking and monitoring of learner progression is in place across the business

Setting and maintaining a quality Monitoring Framework that support the requirements for the group.

Create a quality control process to monitor learner and employer feedback to ensure this is consistent between direct delivery and sub-contracting provision

Review systems, policies and practices to ensure continuous improvement across all areas of delivery, management and administration to ensure best practice

Develop and maintain effective learner record management systems, which ensure consistency and confidentiality whilst ensuring the requirements of the regulatory framework standards

Provide detailed programme information to learning and relevant detailing to ensure the highest standard of service is provided, thus providing an excellent level of service to all of our stakeholders

Ensure target and performance indicators are achieved in accordance with business objectives and contracted targets

To lead, inspire and support teams and encourage creativity in order to embed excellence in customer experience internally and externally

Develop a positive and supportive culture, working towards the highest standards, driving aspirations for all staff, apprentices and employers to reach for excellence

Provide clear, stretching and measurable targets for all staff through robust performance management and review to ensure a culture of continuous improvement

Work proactively with colleagues across the Group taking the initiative to resolve issues as they arise and contribute to appropriate Group meetings

The ideal candidate must possess the following Skills, Experience and Qualities:

It is essential to have proven experience of performing a similar Quality and Performance role within the Work Based Learning/Skills sector.

Have extensive experience of driving quality Improvements

Experience and knowledge of Ofsted/ESFA related activities

Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.

Strong communication skills

Strong attention to detail

Able to follow processes

Enthusiasm in the work place

Work well under pressure

Excellent managerial and interpersonal skills

Advanced time management and analytical skills

Have a full, clean driving licence and use of a vehicle

Must be flexible with travel

The ideal candidate must possess the following qualifications:

Educated to a minimum of GCSE grade C in English and Maths or equivalent.

Qualified Assessor and or IQA

Hold Teaching Qualification
