KYC Team Manager

West Malling

£40k DOE

Monday - Friday

Our client is seeking a highly motivated, proactive and experienced leader to manage the KYC (Know Your Customer) team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a large, successful and well reputed business in West Malling.

Duties include:

Manage, support and guide a team of 10 KYC Officers by completing performance appraisals, coaching, training and development
Act as an escalation point for internal and external customers
Approve on-boarding for new customers
Sign off reviews for low risk customers
Identify gaps in risk controls and work alongside the Risk Officer, MLRO and other senior management to understand the risk and strengthen controls
Sign off high value receipts, unusual transactions and 3rd party receipts following completion of appropriate due diligence
Oversee checks on overnight screening to ensure actioned within SLA
To carry out due diligence on outgoing and incoming payments by use of appropriate searches, internet searches and customer information, allocating the correct risk rating
Retrospectively carry out quality checks on high risk cases
Analyse available data, searching for areas where productivity could be enhanced, highlighting issues and proposing solutions
Design and regularly update a quality assurance framework, working closely with the Senior KYC officer, to effectively evaluate the effectiveness of the team, creating action plans where necessary

The successful candidate will be/have:

ICA certificate or diploma in AML or equivalent
Substantial experience of work in an AML/ KYC environment
Previous line management experience
Extensive training and knowledge of: JMLSG; AML and counter terrorist financing regulations
Confident in using all MS Office applications
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Analytical with a high attention to detail
