Our client is an international manufacturing business with multiple sites globally. Due to sustained investment and development of their manufacturing facilities they are seeking a permanent PLC controls engineer to support the maintenance team in the improvement of manufacturing capabilities across their site in the Leighton Buzzard.

The position offers OEM training and personal development, plus career development opportunities.
Assisting with projects across the factory, and numerous production lines providing technical support and development work, including design (Drawings / PLC programmes, Risk Assessments, etc.) commissioning, as and when required to the maintenance teams.

·Ensure factory downtime is minimised and improved through projects ensuring work is carried out with cost and quality in mind.
·To promote and implement an Engineering Technical Specifications and Standards Procedures to ensure compliance with the Machinery Directive in force.
·To provide a management and assessment of functional safety, including support in planning and in design of safety circuit and safety logic programming against best practices.
·To manage all aspect of electrical installation including fixed wire testing, PAT testing, HV transformers and switchgears.
·To survey and control electrical drawings and PLC/SCADA backups

About You:

Electrically or Controls qualified with extensive and proven skills in Electronic and Automation
Ability to solve complex problems.
Experience in electrical and control design and development.
Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changes in environment/technology.
Ability to work alone or as part of a team.
Willingness to contribute ideas and share information.
Desire to be the best and motivation towards continual self-improvement.
Good verbal and written communication skills and experience of communicating with different types of people at all levels of an organisation.
The ability to interrogate PLC programs and write code in PLC systems; E.g Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi, RS Logix, S7.
Ideally have some Profibus, Profinet experience
FDS (Functional design specifaction)

Electrical Engineer - PLC Control Systems / Automation / Controls Engineer
Salary: £45/50k per annum pension, plus training and development, including PLC training courses, CI training courses and leadership training
Duration: Permanent
Days - Monday to Friday e.g. 8am to 4, 9 to 5 etc.
