Junior Web Developer (Backend / App / Serverless) - Costock, Near Nottingham

Salary - £18,000 - £23,000 p.a plus excellent benefits package

Full-time, Permanent, Onsite

Role

An exciting opportunity has risen for a back end web developer to join their growing team. The role will involve working at the forefront of the web design ndustry, involvement with growing the online offering of high-profile brands and ensuring that client needs are consistently met.

The job will require the successful candidate to have at least a year of professional evidenced experience. This role consists of three essential components:

- Back-end development

- Application support

- Operations development

Responsibilities:

You will be expected to play a significant role in the inception, systems architecture, build and support of websites and apps. You will need to be confident in meeting with a client and accurately extracting requirements and liaison with project managers to set out the necessary plans to execute the project. As part of a team you should be able to multi-task and perform following duties:

  • Produce industrial strength high quality, clean code with a focus on development standards
  • Implement and write code based upon build requirements
  • Create unit tests based upon Gherkin language
  • Creation of web interfaces for relational database systems
  • Collaborating on design with UX and frontend team and systems architect
  • Communicating the technical approach to mixed audiences, including clients
  • Supporting existing clients with front-end fixes and upgrades
  • Engaging in outside-the-box thinking to provide a high value to clients
  • Server configuration for the launch of completed websites

Skills & Experience

  • Knowledge in backend PHP frameworks like Magento 2 or Drupal or Laravel or Syfony or WordPress
  • Magento 2
  • Object Oriented PHP
  • HTML
  • MySQL / Postgres / Mongo DB
  • Drupal 7/8/9
  • Bespoke Magento 2 Plugin and Drupal 9 module development
  • Apache / Litespeed / Nginx
  • Linux (Centos / equivalent RHEL flavours)
  • Version control using Git / gitflow
  • Experience with PHP Storm or equivalent application(s) is desirable
  • Experience with REST and JSON APIs
  • Docker

Desirable skills:

PHP Codesniffer, Java / Flutter, Node.js, AWS, Ansible, warm, Redis / ElasticCache, Apache SOLR, Aquia accreditation, Jenkins, Old frameworks Drupal 6/7 Zend
