Behaviour Mentor / Challenging Behaviour Teaching Assistant - Barnet - ASAP

Are you an aspiring Social Worker eager to work with secondary school students who display very challenging behaviour?

A wonderful alternative provision based in the Barnet area of north London is seeking to recruit a Graduate for a highly resilient Behaviour Mentor role for its secondary phase, ASAP from September 2020.

The successful Behaviour Mentor, who could perhaps be an aspiring Social Worker, will be able to inspire, motivate and earn the respect of the students. At the same time the successful Behaviour Mentor will be able to develop highly successful working relationships with the students in order to increase their academic engagement, coping strategies and interpersonal skills.

The role presents new challenges on a daily basis and is ideally suited to Behaviour Mentors who themselves have a real strength of character, are resilient, calm and is able to remain unphased and composed at all times.

Behaviour Mentor, Barnet - The Person:

·Must be a Graduate with a degree from a reputable University

·It is essential that you are reliable, composed, calm, resilient and patient

·Strong interpersonal skills

·The Behaviour Mentor role is ideal for aspiring Social Workers

Behaviour Mentor, Barnet - The Role:

·Reporting directly to the Senior Leadership Team

·Working closely with secondary school students who have been excluded from mainstream school

·Working on improving the students' learning habits - either 1:1 or in small groups

·Proactively dealing with behavioural issues and difficulties relating to SEMH/SEN

·Full-time, long-term, £70-£80 per day plus a £675 per year healthcare Package

Behaviour Mentor, Barnet - The Provision:

·A provision dedicated to the social, interpersonal, and academic education of students from KS3 to KS4.

·A fantastically supportive Senior Leadership Team (SLT)

·The SLT provides ongoing professional training and development for all of its members of staff.

·Easy access to the provision via public transport and by road.
