Compliance Analyst
Location: Head Office in Birmingham
Salary: £22,000, per annum, depending on experience

BSEL operates through an extensive network of independent retail money transfer agents, with over 250 based in the UK and c.300 more partnered with the company's European business units. The company has an aggressive plan to expand across Europe over the next few years whilst maintaining its commitment to increasing financial inclusion.
Purpose of the Compliance Analyst role:
Work as part of a dynamic and fast paced compliance function, undertaking full client due diligence, including EDD of high-risk clients. Creating client files and undertaking full KYB and KYC checks, for individuals and business customers. Assist with transaction monitoring as required as part of the team's cross skilling.

Compliance Analyst Responsibilities:
- Conduct KYC research on new client documentation
- Review high risk clients
- Carry out client due diligence using a wide range of databases and search facilities to identify PEPs
- Maintain a working understanding of the firm's anti-money laundering and financial crime policies and procedures
- Update compliance procedures relating to AML and Sanctions
- Review escalated cases including transaction monitoring referrals from first line
- Complete investigations and submit internal SARs to the MLRO within the relevant timescales
- Analyse and interpret large volumes of data and escalate suspicious activities
- Assist in the production of management information to relevant stakeholders in a timely manner
Compliance Analyst Requirements:
- At least 3 years' experience of KYC and/or transaction monitoring
- Solid knowledge in customer and enhanced due diligence, Sanctions, PEP and adverse media screening
- Existing knowledge of regulated, risk and/or legal environment
- High level of professionalism and integrity
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to engage with different stakeholders
- CDD/AML related certification desirable
- Team player with strong collaboration skills
- Knowledge of automation tools and the ability to adopt change effectively
