Learning Support Assistant needed - Sheffield - Start Nov 2020 - Part time, temporary

This specialist provision provides education and support to young people in preparation for adult life
Your new role
Working alongside Teachers and other LSA's, you will provide support to SEN students within classes. These classes can be a mix of vocational, functional skills and employability. The school are looking to you to provide not only academic support but also pastoral support, and as well as liaising with other staff within school, you may be expected to liaise with parents and outside agencies. You will be working 3 days a week 09:00 - 16:00 from 2nd November ongoing.
What you'll need to succeed
You need to have experience working with young people with Special Educational Needs, ideally in a school/classroom setting. This experience needs to be within the last 40 days, and references will be required to show this experience. You need to be available to start work from the 2nd November and have a valid, enhanced DBS - or be willing to get one. Personally, you need to be a warm and empathetic person who is patient and understanding whilst realising that the students are here to learn.
