SEMH English Teacher - Christchurch
Prospero Teaching are looking an SEMH English Teacher for an alternative provision located in Christchurch, Dorset. The role will be full-time in a PRU / SEMH Secondary School starting January 2021
The ideal teacher will be innovative, enthusiastic and passionate. The school is keen to secure an English teacher to join a thriving department. The role includes teaching English to all year groups Key Stage 3, Key stage 4 and experience with Functional Skills - this is preferable but not essential.
As a new member of staff you will be given support and time to adapt to the systems they have in place and gain confidence in the way English is delivered.
The School will accommodate induction terms for newly qualified teacher. The senior leadership team and NQT Coordinator at the school commit to making you an excellent practitioner if you are yet to finish your NQT year.
Behaviour at the school is well-managed, strategies are in place and the expectations are clearly outlined. Students are aware of their expectations and students value the education provided by staff, they are respectful, and want to learn making this a great place for teachers to teach.
Students have social, emotional and mental health needs and can sometimes react in a way that requires extra attention. You will be trained to ensure you are able to manage and react in the appropriate way to this behaviour.
Classes are small and students often have 1:1 support in the class to assist the teacher.

**Hours - 8:30 am - 4pm, plus parents evenings
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS
**QTS or equivalent
**Minimum 1 year English teaching experience in the UK
**Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year
**Experience with experience of Functional Skills (Desirable)
TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:
**Hold Right to Work in the UK
**Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
**Provide two professional child related references
