Procurement Manager

FTC 6 Months, with possibility to extend

Solihull

Our client, a leading provider of life science solutions, are now looking for a strong Procurement Manager from a medical or scientific , pharmaceutical background to join their team on site in Shirley, Solihull on a prestigious project for a fixed term contract of 6 months that could well be extended further on a rolling basis.

Role responsibilities :
  • Being a Key contact and support for Procurement
  • Responsible for local procurement strategies
  • Responsible for Procurement Support
  • Responsible for technical clarification in collaboration with PMO and Site locations
  • Cost management and compliance with project targets within purchasing processes
  • Supplier Relationship Management and Supplier development (cost, quality, innovation, risk management)
  • To ensure the supply and a sustainable risk management,
  • Analysis of the supplier market and sourcing activities and to execute supplier enquiries and price comparisons (RFI, RFQ)
  • Select and qualify new suppliers, responsible for local supplier ratings and supplier development
  • Lead contract Negotiations, agreeing on terms and conditions with suppliers
  • Benchmarking and Cost down initiatives on long- and short-term suppliers and implementing Long- and short-term agreements with key suppliers
  • Coordination of process within procurement, including Purchase Order Processing, contracts, and order confirmation
  • Support of projects from the start to final project delivery in all purchasing related issues as well as delivery-time and material control
  • Managing Quotations from design phase to implementation

Person Specification:

ü Experience in a Procurement within a medical/health/scientific/pharma in a project related industry

ü Excellent negotiation skills

ü Ability to work under own initiative and to work well under pressure

ü Effective written and spoken communication

ü Proven track record in delivering projects and cost savings

ü Legal awareness regarding capital contracts

ü Experience with ISO accreditation would be an advantage
