A Primary Trust in Nottingham are looking to appoint qualified Teaching Assistant's to work within their KS1 and KS2 classes, supporting phonics. These roles will initially run for 1 term, with the chance of it going permanent for the right candidate. This opportunity will proviede the successful Teaching Assistant's the chance to join high achieving teams, as well as challenge themselves and pupils to progress their reading age and overall literacy skills.

Your new role
With the EYFS curriculum focusing heavily on progress from Reception into Year 1, the Trust has created these posts for dynamic Teaching Assistant's to work exclusively on supporting Phonics on a small group basis, and ensuring all children have the necessary reading skills to build on in the future. The Trust are looking to appoint experienced Teaching Assistant's to support the delivery of systematic synthetic phonics across phases 2-4. As a Literacy specialist Teaching Assistant, your input at planning meetings will be welcome, particularly on implementing a multi-sensory approach to phonics development.


The successful Teaching Assistant will have at least NVQ Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent, and at least 6 months experience supporting phonics in KS1/KS2 within the last year. The ability to work under your own initiative and the confidence and vision to participate in planning meetings are essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
