We have a position available working with a severely autistic gentleman as part of a team of 15 staffEssential working experience is as follows
Experience in Autism
Experience with Learning Disabilities and must feel confident in dealing with physical intervention as the client can be very challenging and requires 3 staff at all times
Full clean driving licence and must be prepared to drive the client and other staff members in a large mini bus
Our client is a young gentleman who is Autistic, has learning disabilities and challenging behaviours. Our client lives in his own home supported by his own team of dedicated support workers whose aim is to keep our client safe and to lead an independent life. Our client enjoys trips out in his vehicle on a daily basis as well as participating in activities such as baking, painting and watching his DVD's. Our client has regular contact with his family who he cares for dearly.Duties to include:
- Accessing the community
- Driving / getting around / visiting family
- Personal care such as washing or dressing
- Attending medical visits/collecting prescriptions
- Taking medicine (PAs administering medication keep a written record of all drugs given in accordance with the Medication Policy)
- Preparing and cooking food
- Cleaning and housework
- Ensuring the client's home is hygienic and safe
- Ensure a professional approach in the house at all times
- Liaising with his family
£9.07 p/h Monday - Friday 8am - 10pm
£10.07 p/h Saturday & Sunday 8am - 10pm
£10.07 p/h Monday - Sunday Waking Night 10pm - 8am
£54 per shift Monday - Sunday Sleepover shift 10pm - 8am
This is a bank position to cover for annual leave and sickness, there will be a guaranteed 24 hours per month.
The successful applicant will be part of a team responsible for keeping the client safe at all times and need to be flexible to help cover additional shifts of the team's holidays and sickness and emergency cover.
