Job Title: Digital Communications Manager

Reporting to: Head of Communications

My client is a very well established, highly regarded company within the automotive sector. They are now seeking to recruit a Digital Communications Manager (automotive experience preferable). This is a new role to support their growth plans.

Role responsibilities:
  • Drive digital strategy plans across the group of companies.
  • Proactively plan creative, compelling, and targeted digital communications tactical activity and campaigns.
  • Develop key messages utilising all BMW resources to lead on creating and maintaining appropriate and consistent language and terminology.
  • Analyse and report the performance of all digital activities against marketing objectives and budgets utilising relevant metrics to steer future digital campaign activity and content curation.
  • This should be achieved whilst supporting the delivery of profitable growth within the business.
  • Detailed Responsibilities
  • Managing the group website and other related websites.
  • ·Ownership of all Group and Network websites content, including copywriting and editing, setting KPIs.
  • ·Working with the Marketing Manager to ensure products are marketed correctly.
  • ·Track conversion rates, making continual improvements to the website where needed
  • ·Analytics should utilise a range of recognised techniques including SEO, PPC and paid search to regularly measure, evaluate and optimise all digital communications activity reporting on a monthly basis.
  • ·Devise strategies to drive online traffic to the company website and review new technologies to keep the company at the forefront of digital marketing techniques
  • ·Complete a regular competitor review and make appropriate recommendations for improvement.
  • Responsible for raising the organisation's profile using Social Media.
  • ·Management of content and user experiences across all social media platforms including copywriting and editing.
  • ·Track conversation rates, making continual improvements to the website where needed
  • ·Measure, evaluate and optimise social platforms activity reporting on a monthly basis.
  • ·Complete a regular competitor review and make appropriate recommendations for improvement.
  • Working alongside Marketing Manager to ensure products are marketed correctly and comply with all guidelines.
  • Day to day management of any third-party agencies and media contacts to help achieve the objectives set.
  • Staying informed of upcoming trends and developments within the field of digital communications and reporting to colleagues.
  • Assist with planning budget requirements and ensure budget spend remains aligned to signed off budget levels.
  • Ensure that there are clear lines of communication within the department. Keep the relevant departments and business aware of any issues or problems which could give rise to damage in the Retailer/Customer relationship and/or financial loss.


Capability, Knowledge and Experience

Strong analytical skills

Strong project and budget management skills

Proven ability to work flexibly and under pressure to meet deadlines

A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, (including Excel, PowerPoint)

A strong working knowledge of Social Channels (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Linked In) plus campaign platforms for pre planning and posting e.g. Hootsuite or equivalent.

Automotive experience preferable

Familiar with utilising Drive system/Kerridge/Rev 8 to produce data for campaign activity.
