Our client, who supply bespoke, on-trend products to the British High street market now have an excellent opportunity for a Garment Technologist to join their business based near Stockport

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Working with the Design and Buying teams to fit and comment on all samples;
• Manage the sealing process from proto to production, and the tracking of samples at all stages;
• Ensuring all styles are fitted and sealed in line with critical dates;
• Ensuring compliance with fibre composition labelling regulations, product safety and Reach legislation, assessing risk, managing relevant testing;
• Promoting quality at all times, whilst maintaining a strong commercial attitude;
• Working with the QC related issues on both a supplier and consumer point of view.

Key Requirements:

• Relevant qualifications in fashion / garment technology or similar
• Experience in garments - ideally childrenswear
• Good communication and organisational skills
• Computer literate
• Strong attention to detail
• Understanding of fabrics including testing
• Understanding of fitting and fit issues
• Knowledge of grading and grade rules
• Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
