The role of the Addictions Team Leader is to support the Senior Charge Nurse Mental Health and Addictions in their strategic management role; to provide leadership ensuring a high standard of addictions care is delivered in accordance with clinical and addictions service delivery standards; to continuously review standards within agreed frameworks, policies and procedures ensuring compliance with audits and standards; to develop & manage staff performance through PDR system; to develop Health Promotion within the establishment in liaison with other departments.
The Addictions Team Leader operates as part of a multi-disciplinary team, managing and directing clinical and support staff ensuring the most efficient use of resources relating to healthcare delivery within a clinical governance framework. Responsible for the development and provision of a multidisciplinary substance misuse service to prisoners whose use of alcohol and drugs is associated with dependence and/or significant impairment of their physical, social and emotional functioning. This will involve developing and maintaining partnerships; working with statutory and voluntary sector organisations and forging positive links with the local community.
