Behaviour Support Specialist

Protocol Education are now recruiting for a Learning mentor / Behavior specialist in Luton . We are working with a large secondary special needs school .

We are looking for passionate candidates who have the right attitude and transferable skills and who are looking to gain experience within a specialist environment.

Maybe you are a former Sports coach, Youth Worker, Mentor, Social Worker, Workshop Facilitator or support worker? Are you a graduate with an interest and some experience in SEN teaching assistant work. . This could be a stepping stone to a new career . You must have had some experience working with young people with Autism and challenging behaviours

What you will be doing in the role :

You may be required to work with a range of abilities and age groups, in varied classroom environments and all children and young people will have special needs - autism , severe learning needs , speech/ language and communication difficulties , social emotional and mental health issues .plus a variety of complex needs .

You will work on a 1 to 1 basis or with small groups, assisting them in and out of the classroom for various activities such as community outings.

You will work closely with other school staff, and take direction from the class teacher and other staff members.

You will need to build strong relationships with pupils and staff, whilst still maintaining professional boundaries and be proactive, friendly, outgoing and taking the initiative at all times.

The school is happy to offer some training to the right person who is willing to learn and be part of a team and love the children and young people .
