JOB

The job of Finance Team Leader will give you the opportunity to be involved with the following:
  • Taking the lead in preparing financial reporting to key stakeholders including the board, senior management & budget holders
  • Delivering financial management reporting in line with statutory & regulatory requirements including monthly management accounts, annual statutory accounts & forecasts
  • Carrying out trend analysis, KPI tracking, financial ratios & benchmarking
  • Direct line manager of two members of staff & indirect responsibility in supporting other finance team members
  • Coordinating the annual budget development process
  • Discussing & advising performance against budget with budget holders
  • Preparing & updating annual, five year & thirty-year forecasts
  • Coordinating & preparing statutory & consolidated accounts & backup schedules
  • Taking a lead on the annual audit process ensuring preparation of working papers, evidence, & explanations as required by the Auditors
  • Leading the development of financial accounting systems, accounting processes, support & training. This will include building the chart of accounts

YOU

As Finance Team Leader you will ideally be skilled and/or qualified in the following:
  • Skilled in carrying out the above tasks
  • Ideally a Qualified Accountant or at minimum actively working towards the final stages of an accountancy qualification
  • Full range of specialist technical accounting skills - In particular up to date technical knowledge of FRS 102 is essential
  • Strong management skills
  • Highly computer literate including MS Excel (ideally pivot tables, lookups, conditional formatting)
  • Able to analyse complex problems, reach evidence-based conclusions & identify effective solutions
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills both - including the ability to talk confidently on financial & technical issues to a range of internal & external stakeholders
