Our client a leading Oil & Gas Operator are seeking an Asset Accountant for a initial 12 month contract role based in Aberdeen.

Role: Asset Accountant
Duration: 12 months (initially)
IR35: Role will be inside (therefore Paye or Umbrella only)

Position Overview
The post holder will report directly to the Finance Lead and provide a Financial and Management Accounting service to the Asset and Management team. This will involve the Annual Internal Plan, monthly Financial Reporting on Opex, Capex and Abex Reforecasts, AFEs and Cost Reporting & Forecasting. The role will involve working closely with Operations, Decommissioning, and Finance & Planning groups to compile the current year Reforecasts and the Life of Field Plans. The incumbent will be responsible for Asset's G&A and will support AFE management and reporting.

Accountabilities
* Act as first point of contact for accounting support to the Asset, building strong relationships with the onshore and offshore team through frequent communication
* Ensure appropriate guidance on accounting and financial reporting treatment
* Ensure compliance with financial processes
* Drive standardisation, simplification and automation of accounting and reporting, working closely with the other Asset Accountants
* Developing and maintaining a close relationship with the Bangalore JV Finance team
* Be proactive, highlight any improvements to processes or financial output and ensure early engagement on any issues identified

Key Duties

* Review monthly G&A cost tracker and update Infocore forecasts
* Maintain forecasts for subsea codes, hold meetings with PRE's and update trackers and infocore
* Support / co-ordinate the monthly cost forecast update in Infocore. Challenge forecasts to ensure forecasts and phasing is in line with Medium Term Asset Plans (MTAPs)
* Monitor accruals aging and maintain accurate and robust cost forecasts
* Hold monthly meetings to review month end figures with the PRE's, Field Manager and Finance Lead and explain any variance to plan/reforecast ensuring all queries are resolved
* Provide monthly variance commentary for Corporate reporting and bi-annual commentary supporting PRT returns
* Support the Business in the preparation and administration of internal and partner AFEs
* Support the compilation, preparation and modelling of the internal reforecasts, internal and partner budgets and internal Life of Field (LOF) plan (Opex and Capex)
* Deliver systems / process training in relation to Maximo, Infocore, SAP OpenText, FAL, ATT and other financial related systems and processes
* Support Finance Lead with the co-ordination of Joint Venture partner audits
* Develop in depth knowledge of SAP modules and processes
* Undertake any adhoc requests as required by the Finance Lead

Education Attainment & Accreditation
* Qualified accountant or experienced accountant with oil and gas industry experience in a financial/commercial environment

Professional Skills & Experience
* Experience in an oil and gas environment strongly preferred
* Strong aptitude for numbers and analysis combined with strong excel skills
* Strong PowerPoint and presenting skills
