A long established multi-disciplinary London-based law firm, providing advice to individuals, charities and commercial clients. The current COLP is retiring and the firm are looking to appoint a qualified solicitor to take on this role to help them continue to build a strong and collaborative compliance culture. Suitable candidates will be qualified (COFA/COLP) and currently be working in a Law Firm.
Duties will include:
Ensuring that the firm is adhering to all relevant regulatory requirements and adhering to best practice.
Promoting a compliance culture across the firm so that they are able to provide clients with the professional and trustworthy service.
Working closely with the SRA (Solicitors' Regulation Authority) and other regulatory bodies
Act as custodian and lead on all aspects of the creation of frameworks and reports that will help demonstrate compliance and good practice.
Plan, enhance and implement the compliance plan to make sure that the firm is fully aligned with SRA regulations throughout its growth plan
Support the business in the commercial delivery of compliance rules by providing expert legal advice and support in order to mitigate risk
Act as the MLRO for the group
Work collaboratively with a range of key partners within the business and the Group (including the Heads of Practice), Group Legal, internal stakeholders and external regulatory agencies
Work with the Learning & Development team to make sure that relevant training is built and delivered to colleagues
Skills and Experience required:
The ideal candidate will be a fully qualified solicitor with experience acting in a COLP role
The ability to engage with and influence colleagues at all levels
The ability to lead change with multiple stakeholders
Resilience, with the confidence to challenge and push back when necessary
Outstanding organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise work effectively
