Optimum Recruitment Group are proud to be working exclusively with this fast paced, service sector client based on the outskirts of York who are looking to appoint a Finance Assistant to the team.

Reporting into the Finance Manager, the Finance Assistant will support the business in a number of areas of transactional accounting including purchase ledger, sales ledger and query resolution.

Your responsibilities will include:

* Managing the purchase ledger invoicing.

* Reconciling creditor statements with PL and requesting copy invoices if required.

* Dealing with volume email and telephone queries through to completion.

* Managing the sales invoice processing.

* Managing customer returns.

* Chasing outstanding purchase orders.

* Provide cover for other Finance team member during holidays.

* Assist with ad hoc tasks for the Accounts Department by mutual agreement with the Finance Manager.

The successful candidate will:

* Have relevant work experience from an accounts department

* Outstanding attention to detail

* Excellent customer service skills

* Be able to work on own initiative

* Enthusiasm and drive

Salary £22k-£25k plus benefits depending on skills and experience
