The Advanced Manufacturing Training Centre is focused on developing, maintaining and building upon the vital skills required by manufacturing graduates, technicians, engineers and managers to deliver the technologies that keep the Great British manufacturing industry globally competitive. Working in partnership with Consilium Recruit they are seeking an Functional Skills Trainer. The purpose of the role is to deliver high quality teaching within English and Maths as well as, pastoral and academic support that enables Apprentices to reach their potential.

The Functional Skills Trainer role will focus on the following key responsibilities:
·Effective delivery of a English & Maths Functional Skills Level 2 paying due regard to developing independent learners, and enabling student progression towards successful completion
·Develop ways of working that are responsive to learners' needs, monitor and evaluate progress and practice and prepare learners for examinations.
·To work closely with the delivery team to support learners with barriers to learning.
·To act as the English & Maths lead for all apprentice support and progress for the complete apprentice journey
·Draw up confidential Individual Learning Plans (ILP's) and learner profiles
·To promote and facilitate high levels of student attendance, retention and achievement for the functional skills element of the Apprenticeship
·Provide accurate and timely data and information, including registers, assessments, examination details and progress reports.
The successful candidate for the Functional Skills Trainer role will possess the following attributes and experience:
·Appropriate Qualifications at Degree level or an English Qualification
·An endorsed teaching qualification - PTLLS or DTLLS or equivalent
·3+ years' experience working with Apprentice contract delivering English and or Maths Functional Skills
·Current competence within English Functional skills delivery at Level 1 and 2 and experience working with Apprentices
·Experienced in the planning, design and delivery of English training programmes
·IT literate including LMS and generic Microsoft Office packages including Word, PowerPoint and MS Outlook
