M&E Building Services Engineer

Pegbox have wonderful opportunity for a M&E Engineer to work in Epping, Essex. This is an exciting opportunity with competitive pay and great benefits.

You will be working a tight knit team, where communication and professionalism are key


Deliver planned mechanical and electrical installations and improvements to managed properties.

Work collaboratively across the organisation to bring about change and improvements to service delivery within finite resources.

Take collective responsibility for ensuring excellent services are provided


•Raise orders, process invoices and supervise Mechanical and Electrical related contract works across properties, to ensure compliance to the specifications and the terms and conditions of the contract. Monitoring contractor performance against contract KPI's

•Produce written technical specification for inclusion in relevant contract and tender documentation when required

•Planned and routine maintenance programmes, contracts and capital works in accordance with Financial Regulations and Procurement Rules

•To carry out and complete property surveys and inspections to gather information for the development of future planned maintenance contracts

•Check, prioritise and issues works based on the recommendations contained in the Electrical Installation Condition Reports produced by contractors

•To keep accurate installation records for all work undertaken and ensure that all necessary site data is available to enable technical drawings to be kept up to date

•Liaise and correspond with tenants, leaseholders, organisational members and contractors as necessary on mechanical and electrical type installations and upgrades

•Other activities as required



•Relevant qualifications in Mechanical and Electrical disciplines or demonstrable equivalent work experience.

•Demonstrate a good understanding of safeguarding issues commensurate with the role


•Experience within an organisation of comparable scale and complexity.

•Experience in a Mechanical and Electrical Installations role including preparation of specifications, drawings, contract documents and cost estimates and supervision of works.

•A detailed working knowledge of current regulations relevant to building services.

•Evidence of successfully delivering service improvements

•Ability to establish positive relationships with key stakeholders at all levels of the organisation and partners that generate confidence and respect.

•The ability to analyse issues and set them down in a variety of written forms in a clear and concise manner dependent upon the recipient, to include recommendations for action where appropriate.

•A good understanding of the use of technology for the delivery of modern and streamlined services and processes
