Job Details

Plant & Engineering Fitter

Operational management and resources of Fabrication at Luton
Ensuring service schedules, defect sheets are completed on time and accurately
Control and maintenance of all Company equipment
Manage the engineering function- mechanical plant, machinery/equipment any item related to the collection/treatment of waste at all sites/depots
Property maintenance of an engineering nature e.g. shutters, gutters etc. (no traditional building trade)
Maintenance of externally hired equipment on customer premises
Maintenance of all records (internal and for external bodies e.g. LOLER testing)
Health and Safety of all employees in work areas as above including Safe Systems of Work
Management of suppliers for work areas as detailed above
Spec'ing of new equipment in line with business requirements

KPI's

Ø No defects outstanding over 7 days
Ø Accurate and up to date record keeping e.g. vehicle defects sheets have job sheets
Ø Budgetary Control - year on year basis as agreed with finance
Ø External and internal plant service schedule

Skills, Experience & Education

A working knowledge of UK Waste Legislation
A working knowledge of plant/machinery/waste handling equipment
Previous experience in managing al large vehicle fleet
Management of a team of up to 8 reports
Relevant qualifications in Engineering
Intermediate IT skills - Word, Excel, Powerpoint
Numerical ability - data analysis, reporting
Excellent H&S awareness and legal compliance
Presentation skills
Organisational and time management skills
Good at information seeking and handling
Able to manage multiple tasks
Excellent internal and external customer service and oral/written communication skills

£11 per hour - 50 hours per week - Immediate Start
