Senior Training Advisor - Business Improvement - Part Time 0.4, £29,451 - £32,122 (Pro Rata to £11780 - 12,848 for 2 days a week)

We are seeking a highly motivated, experienced and enthusiastic individual to work as part of an innovative team. Reporting to the Curriculum Team Manager, the successful applicant will plan, deliver, and assess Apprentice training programmes and assist in the marketing of Apprentice programmes to industry. The College offers an excellent pension scheme (LGPS) and the post holder will receive up to 43 days' paid leave per annum pro rata.

This post would involve teaching up to 170 hours theory on the apprenticeship. with a heavier theory input at the beginning of the post and then there would be more visits to monitor apprenticeship progression towards their projects. There is initially around 10 apprentices (all adults) already in employment within Carlisle and the local area.

Business Improvement covers the delivery and coaching of improvement activity within an area of responsibility, often associated with Lean and Six Sigma methodologies, working to resolve problems - preventing re-occurance, engaging others in issues affecting them and supporting the improvement of performance. Business Improvement, whilst more commonly associated with manufacturing and engineering, can be found across all industry sectors and functions.

Is this role for me?

We are looking for someone who has the following qualifcations;
  • 5 GCSE's (A-C) including English and Mathematics or equivalent Level 2 qualifications
  • PGCE / Cert Ed or Teaching qualification or willingness to work towards
  • A1/A2 qualification or willing to work towards
  • V1 qualification or willing to work towards

It would be advantageous but not essential if you held a Six-Sigma Certificate
