The Manufacturing Technology Centre is collaborating with the UK Atomic Energy Authority (UKAEA) and the Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC) to train and develop apprentices in a brand-new purpose-built training academy in Oxfordshire. Courses will be delivered by the MTC, replicating the industry-leading Advanced Manufacturing Training Centre on the MTC campus in Coventry. The AMTC has rapidly built a reputation for equipping apprentices not only with core engineering skills but also the latest advanced manufacturing techniques. The Role
The Senior Trainer position is required to embed the right skills, knowledge and behaviours in Apprentices, Engineering Technicians and STEM Graduates in order to meet the current and future needs of the High Value Manufacturing (HVM) Sector.
You will deliver theme based, high-quality and engaging technical training (practical, theoretical and distance based) to Apprentices.
You will be responsible for Line Management, coaching and mentoring a caseload of apprentices through their entire learning journey, including: recruitment and induction, broad-based technical training, theme-based technical training; college day release; placement within industry; competency assessment, achievement and graduation. Additionally, you will monitor Learner workplace Health, Safety and welfare, act as Deputy Safeguarding Designated Officer
The Person
You will possess NVQ Level 3 or similar in Engineering and be conversant with using Learner Management Systems. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy with good numeracy skills and confidence working with numbers & data is required for the position. Engineering Management Experience is also highly welcomed for the role. All applicants will be subject to an Enhanced DBS check prior to being employed within the apprentice team.
