Job Details
The company are a leading Material Handling business in the UK. Their Scottish region has a new requirement for a Regional Workshop Manager to join the business. They offer an attractive basic salary, circa to £36k to £40k basic with Company Car (BMW 3 Series/A4), Contributory Pension, 33 days holiday.
This will a regional role and you will be travelling across 3 sites, but ideally the individual will live in a commuting distance of East Kilbride
3 Direct Reports - Technicians
Responsibilities:
To improve the workshops performance including the Hire truck process, the rebuild process and the new truck arrival & dispatch to Customer.
Complete bi-monthly audits and record in line with ISO.
Drive efficiency's / quality and set stretch targets for all regional workshops to deliver on.
Manage all facilities contractors, quotes, invoices and associated processes.
To ensure all facilities are kept in good order and are safe to operate
Conduct employee dialogue, performance improvement plans and/or disciplinary investigations in line with company policy.
Regular communication and updates for the Aftersales, Rental & Sales teams.
Ensure H&S is at the forefront of all workshop activities.
Ensure the sites operate at all times to ISO standards (9001, 14001 & 18001)
Support for the Aftersales Department with labour & work space for off-site repairs.
Drive continuous improvement of service delivery standards, and the off Hire truck termination and quotation process.
Ensure availability of Hire machines by maintaining a good stock of machines readily available for rental.
Support National Account Contract Managers with any PDI work or modifications.
To assist in planning of the workload to ensure a smooth flow of trucks through to our customers.
Advance planning for coverage in peak periods and managing demand to meet customer expectations
To manage the second-hand parts process. In conjunction with the asset manager selecting trucks from the Hire fleet in to be broken for suitable regularly used parts. Ensuring they are catalogued correctly and made available for use within the UK.
Setting annual budgets with local Regional Managers/Supervisors/TL's, assisting in controlling spend, managing a reduction in costs where possible.
Manage all facilities contractors, quotes, invoices and associated processes.
Project manage in coordination with the Depot Director and infrastructure improvement projects
Requirements:
Experienced workshop manager required, with experience in both facilities and H&S
You will have worked for an engineering or facilities business at management level
Applicants do not have to be technically hands on for this, the management side is the key requirement for this
Regional - multi site experience preferred
Managing people, targets, KPI, developing teams
Customer focussed who is at ease in building relationships
