Educator sought to provide pastoral and academic support to identified secondary students

Our client school in Oldham are looking to recruit an excellent Teaching Assistant/Academic mentor to provide one to one support for an identified pupil. This position is term time only and is being advertised as fixed term until July 2021.

The successful post holder will complement the planned work of teachers by taking responsibility for agreed learning activities under an agreed system of supervision involving planning, preparation and delivering learning activities for the individuals in question.

This post has arisen due to additional funding, and our client school are looking to appoint a skilled and enthusiastic behaviour teaching assistant to support key students. Due to an increasing level of behaviour and disruption, there is the need for a positive role model in education and a mentor to reduce the risk of exclusion and encourage participation during lessons.

"We're looking for a resilient and passionate teaching assistant who is going to hit the ground running and provide the very best in terms of support for our students. A number of the students run the risk of being excluded due to their disruptive behaviour and refusal to participate in lessons."

Whilst working as a behaviour teaching assistant, the successful applicant will be required to provide 1:1 support throughout the school day with the aim of encouraging progress in education, along with promoting positive behaviour during lessons and around the school.
