I am delighted to be working with an outstanding Business information services organisation in Sunderland, supporting them on the recruitment of an Editor to join their Marketing, Content and Campaigns team.

Reporting to the Head of Content and Marketing You will lead the Editorial and Digital Media team and be responsible for ownership of the business Brand and Editorial schedule across all forms of media including written, audio and visual contents such as podcasts, webinars, and articles.

Job Description:

  • Manage and lead the brand (both internally and externally)
  • Inspire members of the team to innovate and strive for excellence
  • Take responsibility for ensuring compliance with all standards within the team
  • Create, implement, and maintain effective resource management models and systems including editorial schedule
  • Oversee production of content, campaigns and marketing materials including art layout, design, animation, visual and audio media, typesetting, layout, and pagination
  • Develop ambitious contents that are aligned to business strategy and resonate with various audiences, including businesses and partners
  • Ensure the creation of content that will build an audience to drive traffic, engagement, leads, that convert to deliver sales and customer retention
  • Collaborate across functions to deliver an effective content strategy are developed including detailed editorial plans and schedules that meet the business objectives within agreed budgets
  • Channel management of digital content utilising best practices
  • Develop contacts and networks, build relationships with appropriate contributors and freelancers
  • Research and analyse the content environment to ensure the business remains market-leading, cascading best practice and insight
  • Ensure editorial quality assurance, so content is consistent with brand voice, style, and tone
  • To gather, analyse and present structured management information for use by the Management Team and external stakeholders in planning

Person Specifications:

  • Has produced creative and innovative media
  • Leadership of an editorial/content team (including digital, not just traditional publishing)
  • Expertise in all major business software applications (Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft
  • Office etc.)
  • Project management skills and Fluency in web analytics tools (Adobe Omniture, Google Analytics)
  • Brilliant presentation skills and Experience with acting as company's spokesman and advocate via media appearances, interviews, sales calls, trade shows, etc.
