A well-known premium FMCG brand that is in the process of developing their UK operations is looking for a Management Accountant in Northampton. Reporting directly to the Head of Finance, you will have a full understanding of the accounting function. Working alongside your colleagues in FP&A and AP, this is a hands-on role where attention to detail is key. This role is currently based in Northampton, but the office location may move to London within the next 12-18-months. It's important that you can work flexibly from both locations, however, they will be as flexible as they can to support this and will also support travel costs.
As a Management Accountant, your responsibilities will include:
Monitoring Key Performance Indicators and providing appropriate reports in conjunction with the FP&A function.
Encouraging and driving process improvement activities, budget and forecasting in conjunction with the HoF.
End to end management accounting, including Balance sheet reconciliations, month end close, VAT and all other regulatory compliance requirements by HMRC
Preparing accurate management accounts and forecasts, ensuring that best practice accounting policies are followed.
Providing timely and accurate management support and analysis, identifying key issues including deviations from annual and quarterly plan and recommending remedial action where necessary.
Monitoring and reconciling several balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis.
Ensuring all costs are accurately attributed to the correct individual revenue streams.
Overseeing all cash-related transactions/allocations e.g. debtor/creditor cash allocations, bank reconciliation, petty cash control.
We are looking for a Management Accountant who has the following skills and experiences:
A degree or previous experience in a similar role.
A UK Accountancy qualification (ACA/CIMA/ACCA or international equivalent).
Fluency in English.
An understanding of relevant industry environments - FMCG, retail customers, sales-led organisations.
Experience with planning and reporting tools (JD Edwards would be an advantage).
IT and process experience.
Excellent MS Excel skills (V-Lookups, pivot tables etc), MS Word and PowerPoint.
Good awareness of financial services and FCA rules.
