About the role:

The Quantity Surveyor role is a key role within the Chevron business, reporting directly to the Commercial Manager. As Quantity Surveyor, you will assist the Commercial Manager in ensuring efficient contract delivery.

Your main roles and responsibilities will be:
  • Preparing estimates and quotations for a variety of clients
  • Pricing Targets for Option C Contracts
  • Managing change control (Compensation events, early warnings)
  • Negotiating contractual claims
  • Reviewing contracts, identifying risk and opportunities
  • Applying for annual increase in rates
  • Raising applications and invoices
  • Cash collection and management of Aged Debt
  • Managing costs, assessing, and approving for payment
  • Inputting into budgets and forecasts for reporting
  • Managing change control (Compensation events, early warnings)
  • Managing Value through Month End Process
  • Managing numerous contracts and varying deadlines
  • Increasing Margin against budget

You will also work closely with the Senior Leadership team, providing them with timely agreed reports and will also provide procurement strategy input to the Depot Manager and Commercial Manager.

Predominantly based at our Finedon depot, a willingness to travel is also required as this role will include trips to our Head Office based in Thame; and also to different depots and sites. Subsequently, a full driving licence with your own transport is essential.

About You:

A highly motivated and confident individual, you are commercially aware, logical, meticulous, and engaging in the way you work. You have great communication both verbally and in writing and demonstrate the best in service and client care. You thrive working on your own initiative, solving problems and are a sound team player. You boast extensive excel skills and are flexible in your working approach.

Qualifications & Skills:
  • 2+ years relevant experience OR HND or higher

Desirable:
  • Strong Excel knowledge (test will be administered during interview)
  • Month End Reporting, (Cost & Value review) experience working alongside the Finance Department
  • Able to communicate confidently with Clients.
  • Working knowledge of NEC3/4 Contracts
  • Ability to multitask, work in a fast paced environment and meet deadlines
