Agile Delivery Manager (e-commerce)
How would you like to work for a retail giant that is currently disrupting the sector and going through massive agile change?
You'll play a pivotal role in helping this company take development and e-commerce to the next level. You will be working extremely closely with the Head of Delivery and play an integral part in engraining an agile culture across the business. This metamorphosis is at the very beginning so it will not be easy and although management have bought in to this fully, it is still a big culture change.
If you're an agile specialist with solid e-commerce experience, then you will definitely want to keep reading this.
You will have to be a hat person as you will have to wear a few different ones, key being those of Agile product ownership, business relationship management and requirements analysis.
This role would suit someone who has a strong background in eCommerce/retail, specifically working in a delivery environment where there are multiple priorities to be managed.
Acting as the front door to the eCommerce development team, this role will be pivotal in maintaining an agile approach to getting work prioritised, sequenced and delivered iteratively. This will include accommodating multi-faceted digital projects, 3rd party system and data integrations, as well as the day to day 'business as usual' requests which help us to keep the lights bright.
You will act as a key negotiator when it comes to prioritising jobs to be done. You will need to be able to understand and articulate the value of the work in the team backlog. Helping business stakeholders to articulate and document their requirements will be fundamental to helping us unleash the value of their ideas.
You will be responsible for tracking and reporting on the work flowing through the team. You will provide indicative delivery dates based on team performance metrics and the complexity of work in the backlog. You will also be the escalation point for blockages that the team are unable to resolve themselves.
You may be able to tell from this description that this role will evolve over time. The early stages of the role will likely be very Agile focused, almost acting as a Scrum Master. As the journey continues this role will focus more and more on Delivery as increased empowerment is given to the team to lead their Scrum meetings etc.
