Reporting to: Accounts Manager

Salary: £32,635 + Excellent Benefits

We are looking for a Tax and Compliance officer to join a Civil Service body. They are looking for a driven individual that can advise on how to comply with Government tax rules and to hold responsibility for asset management. They are fully committed to the development of their staff and provide access to a number of courses. In line with the agency's core values, the ideal candidate will be innovative, proactive and adaptable to the needs of the organisation.

What you'll be doing:
  • Providing advice to non-specialists on accounting implications of tax rules
  • Preparing and managing the production of quarterly VAT returns
  • Assist in and ensure the efficiency of the month-end process
  • Reviewing and making effective decisions on accrual requests

What you'll need:
  • Part or newly qualified accountant (CIPFA, ACCA, CIMA, CFA)
  • Detailed knowledge of Government VAT rules
  • Demonstrable track record of improving performance through technical know-how and analytical skills
  • Substantial knowledge of ERP platform
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively

This role will be fully remote for the immediate future, however the role is typically based in London.
