The Company

This retail business is firmly established as a purveyor of quality plants, horticultural products and sundries and has a well-deserved reputation for providing products to a loyal customer base through excellent service, great knowledge and a passion for all things garden related.

The Role

Reporting to the site General Manager the role takes operational responsibility for all day to day department duties including:
  • Managing a team of General Assistants, setting and monitoring business objectives and overseeing customer service and overall department standards.
  • Controlling stock package and layout in order to maximise sales
  • Ensuring a seasonal product offer remains commercially attractive and that all aspects of the product offer, from indoor and outdoor plants to garden equipment and sundries are well maintained and well merchandised.

The Candidate

You'll have a depth of management experience ideally with past experience within horticulture. Alternatively, you can be a knowledgeable and enthusiastic gardener with some retail management or supervisory experience or a capable retail manager with a love of gardening and a desire to learn more. Applications are invited from a broad range of retail sectors; Garden Centres and Nurseries, Supermarkets, DIY Stores, Out of Town General Merchandise businesses or any other retail operation where good standards and good service are paramount. Ultimately this role will appeal to individuals who want to broaden their knowledge and work for a household name in the Garden Centre & Nursery business.
