Site Support and Decommissioning Engineer - Essex - up to £45,000 + Benefits - Ref 177
I am currently recruiting for a Site Support and Decommissioning Engineer to work for a key client of mine based in Essex. Salary up to £45,000 + Benefits.
The organisation has been in operation for over 40 years and has a turnover in excess of £100 million. They have 9 sites across the UK and employ over 500 people. They have a very well-established global client base and are one of the most recognisable companies within their area of specialism.
To support the continued growth of the business and to deal with the amount of work they have now and forecasted they have the need to appoint a Site Support and Decommissioning Engineer on a permanent basis.
In this role as a Site Support and Decommissioning Engineer you will be responsible for the day to day management of the mechanical maintenance department and will be involved in the decommissioning of a range of redundant equipment. There are around 50 people on site, but you would have direct responsibility for 4 people who would be hands on carrying out the plant maintenance on pumps, conveyors, vessels, reactors, boilers, valves, drives, chains, bearings and bucket elevators. It would be your duty to supervise the team and ultimately schedule relevant PPM checks and make appropriate recommendations to ensure maximum efficiency of the plant minimising downtime. It will also be your responsibility to ensure all equipment is maintained in line with relevant standards such as PSSR, PUWER and LOLA.
* Time Served Mechanical fitter or Mechanical Engineering qualification
* Understanding of as many of the following as possible pumps, conveyors, vessels, reactors, boilers, valves, drives, chains, bearings and bucket elevators.
* Decommissioning experience
* Understanding of PSSR, PUWER, LOLA
* Previous supervisory experience
* Understanding of a CMMS (computerised maintenance management system)
