Audit and Compliance Officer

Slough - Office 2 days a week and home based 3 days a week

£26,000 per annum

My client is a National Apprenticeships and Training organisation who is looking for 2 Audit and Compliance Officers with experience within the Apprenticeship market. The successful Audit and Compliance Officer will complete internal audit and compliance of all funding claims, data entry for specified areas of the learner journey and will support the Head of Audit and Compliance with activity required to mitigate any clawback.

Areas of Accountability

The focus of the Audit and Compliance Officer is audit and compliance controls across the business, as well as other information relating to the learners and funding claims. The Audit and Compliance Officer will report in and be managed by the Head of Audit and Compliance. There will be occasions for interaction with other internal stakeholders to drive continuous improvement that mitigates any financial Education Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) and other funding stream clawback. ESFA Funding Rules and other external guidance documents will form the foundation of audit, compliance checks and the updating/designing of processes, procedures and documentation and the role holder will be provided with the appropriate training as changes occur.

Essential Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

* Experience of working with PICS as the core MIS (or similar, e.g. Maytas)

* Experience of undertaking internal audit and compliance checks

* Strong understanding of quality of data entry and documentation completion

* Strong understanding of ESFA/other funding rules, and how they apply to the role

* Exceptional attention to detail

* Microsoft Office user, with advanced Excel skills

* Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

* Solution driven

* Effective communication skills; verbal and written

Desirable Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

* A strong understanding of how data and compliance links to quality and Ofsted

* Experience of working with PICs and Smart Assessor e-portfolio (or similar)

* Experience of operating in a paperless environment

* Experience of an ESFA audit
