Who we are looking for:

Sellafield Ltd is recruiting a Specialist Team Leader for Human Factors.
The successful candidate will lead a team of Human Factors specialists working on some of the most complex, technical engineering challenges in the UK.
The Human Factors team at Sellafield Ltd provide professional advice and support to Programmes, Projects and Operating Units across the business enabling the accelerated delivery of the Sellafield mission.
The role will be based at one of our satellite offices in West Cumbria.

About the role:

The role holder will lead the development of the HF Team and the consideration of HF across the business in accordance with the HF Capability Strategy to support the needs of the business now and in the future.

The Specialist Team Leader will ensure that all matters relating to the provision of HF assessment and advice for use in Safety Case, Design Engineering, Commissioning and Operations is delivered in a fit for purpose, proportionate manner which achieves company safety standards and quality arrangements.

The role will focus on proactive seeking and implementation of improvements and sharing of learning.

The Specialist team leader will interact with stakeholders at all levels within the business and lead interactions with external stakeholders such as ONR.

The successful candidates will line manage members of the HF Team.

To thrive in this role you will need:

* BSc in psychology/ergonomics/Human factors
• Significant previous experience as a HF Assessor / Specialist in appropriate high hazard industry setting managing delivery of significant HF deliverables.
• Significant understanding and application of HF methods and practices in supporting the Safety Case, Engineering and Operations.
• Significant experience and understanding of Safety Case, Projects, Design Engineering and Commissioning processes and methods.
• Significant experience and understanding of UK regulatory environment and relevant legislation - HAZWA, Management of H&S at Work Regulations, Nuclear Instillations Act, IRR.
• Significant experience of dealing with internal and external stakeholders and regulators.
• Ability to plan and manage resources effectively.
• Knowledge of the Sellafield Ltd site, hazards posed, organisational structure, and processes.
• Effective deployment of resources in a team and the timely procurement and deployment of supply chain resource.
