Teaching Personnel are looking for a talented Teaching Assistant to join one of our client schools in Sunderland. This role will be to support Class Teachers across the school with engaging/re-engaging pupils, ensuring excellent hehaviour expectations are met and support the children in their learning.
The school itself enjoys a positive reputation in the Sunderland area, with high levels of attainment, a positive progress 8 score and a 'Good' Ofsted rating. They have an excellent Support Staff structure in place, led by the SENCO, to ensure that all staff receive the attention they deserve. All support staff have a preplanned timetable that allows for preperation time as well as a level of flexibility depending on the needs of learners and staff alike.
Commencing after October half term 2020 until at least Christmas, with the potential of going permanent
Working with classes across years 7-11
Mixture of 1:1 support as well as general classroom support
Help deliver lessons to smaller groups by being the lead learner, having their own autonomy
The ideal candidate will:
Have experience of supporting children in a secondary education setting
Be a qualified Teaching Assistant to Level 2 at least
Experience communicating with Class Teachers to formulate plans supporting in specific areas
SEN knowledge to identify pupils who may need extra support
