The SENCo of an Ofsted graded 'GOOD' primary school in Blackburn is looking to appoint specialist SEN support for a child in the Year 1 class with complex learning and medical needs. They require someone to work on a one-to-one basis with the child to support them in their learning and development and in staying safe in and around school. The child is currently working at the level of a 1 year old. The successful candidate will be expected to work closely with the Class Teacher and school SENCo to ensure effective communication and the very best support is provided for the child.
The Head Teacher is looking for a qualified Teaching Assistant, who has previous experience in a similar role. Experience of supporting a child with complex learning and medical needs is essential, as is experience of supporting a child with speech and language difficulties.
The school is located close by to Blackburn town centre and is larger than the average-sized primary school. The proportion of pupils known to be eligible for the pupil premium is much higher than that found nationally, as is the proportion of pupils with SEND and/ or disabilities.
