An indie co-development Gaming studio, based in Hartlepool, are looking to take on two game designers, on a contract basis, to join the team for their upcoming console project.

The Company

The client in question specialise in Unreal Engine co-development and are working with a number of exciting global clients on upcoming console games. They create cutting-edge content, all in Unreal Engine, and are looking to expand the team on the back of an influx of new projects. They have worked on projects in the AAA space previously.

Game Designer Role

This exciting opportunity is a great step in any game designer's career, providing the opportunity to work on a number of diverse and exciting projects, all under one roof. You will have the chance to work in a team of highly talented gaming professionals and will be able to develop your skills in a dynamic and versatile role.

This role in particular is an initial three month contract, given the existing projects the studio are working on. However, there is a possibility of the contract developing into a permanent role.

It is initially a remote role but, due to the possibility of extension, the client are looking for candidates who will be willing to eventually move into the Hartlepool-based studio.

Game Designer Requirements

As the client is an Unreal Engine studio, you must be confident using UE4 with, preferably, some commercial experience to showcase this
A keen personal interest in the gaming industry
The ability to work both independently and collaborate well with a team
Experience prototyping gameplay mechanics
The client is willing to pay a competitive daily rate, depending on your experience within the industry.
