A Primary School in Blackburn, East Lancashire have approached Teaching Personnel in order to source and appoint a Year 1 class teacher to take up a full time teaching role in Key Stage 1 from November 2020 until the end of the Autumn term. The role is expected to continue until the end of the academic year with the view to a temp. to perm. option being available.
The class is made up for 25 pupils, you will be expected to deliver practical and engaging lessons following the National Curriculum. You would have a full time teaching assistant who worked with the cohort in EYFS last academic year. The teaching assistant currently leads interventions 2 afternoons a week and this is something that would be continued for the children needing additional support in Phonics and vocabulary development.
There are a high number of children in the school who come from a range of multi-cultural backgrounds and so this affects the development of language and communication skills. The Head teacher has commented that they would like to appoint a teacher who has worked closely with either the Read Write Inc. or the Letters and Sounds Phonics Scheme.
