Our Underwriting teams are currently working remotely, so if you live across the UK and want an exciting career in Pricing and Underwriting then our DLG team could be for you!

As an inclusive employer, we are open to considering any flexible working requests you may have including part time hours, job shares and working from home capabilities

We've adopted an agile approach that removes hierarchy within our roles, to free our people up to get things done and to deliver on projects as part of a wider squad. Our roles develop your skills and give you exposure to all areas of the wider teams. There are plenty of opportunities to progress and move between missions to deliver value where it is needed most. You'll grow your expertise on the way, as well as developing and sharing your experienced knowledge and skills with colleagues.

What you'll be doing:

People are at the heart of our DLG team, and we take that seriously in Pricing & Underwriting. In this role, you'll spend your time focused on the people you look after, whether that's coaching them on ways of working or supporting them on delivering or even just having a coffee because they'd love a chat.

You'll be working with a team of like-minded people across the P&U Chapter who are passionate about creating a great environment for our people to thrive, learn and grow.

You'll use your expertise to support our people to achieve their goals and develop in their role. Drive improved underwriting performance through new data sources, improved question sets, and fraud prevention tools. As well as supporting your squad to deliver change and influence key performance measurements.

You will manage exposure to underwriting and fraud risk, including the setting and monitoring of Key Risk Indicators to deliver mitigating actions. Lead the development of the product structure, including cover levels, excesses and terms and conditions, working with your squad to understand impacts on key performance measurements.

You'll also monitor and maintain underwriting rules (including fraud rules), delivering new capability and insight to drive improvements in underwriting performance.

  • Good understanding of P&L drivers and profitability
  • Strong understanding of insurance principles and practices
  • Understands risk perception
  • Strong knowledge of pricing methodology

Imagine being at the centre of building our market-leading Pricing & Underwriting function through our people...what a great way to spend your day.

We're actively looking for people to join our teams and we're committed to protecting your health and wellbeing throughout every step. Over the last few months we've adapted the way we work to enable us to both protect our people and continue to be there for our customers when they need us most.

What started out as a response to a crisis has now empowered us to think big and completely rethink the way we operate. From carrying out virtual interviews and onboarding to offering greater flexibility when it comes to location and homeworking for certain roles, we're embracing our new way of working.

During this time, we're doing everything we can to take care of our people, we haven't placed any of our colleagues on furlough and we've made commitments to protect their jobs and their pay.

It's a new way of working for many of us, so if you're successful in securing a role with us we'll work with you to make sure you have the tools and equipment you need, and you feel part of our amazing DLG team!
