The Operations Manager is responsible for activities and infrastructure on site comprising of manufacturing, assembly, storage, maintenance, site utilities, garage, quality, safety, environment, security, and the welfare of all direct reports.
This role carries responsibility for safely operating the COMAH upper tier site, for liaising with the relevant Regulators, Local Authorities, neighbours, interested parties to achieve a sustainable site operation as required by the business.
*In association with the Commercial Director, agreeing Goals, Objectives, and Targets.
*Communicating Goals, Objectives, Targets and KPI's, monitoring on a regular basis and taking appropriate corrective action to achieve each.
*Responsible for the site, including COMAH obligations and other statutory requirements.
*Ensuring manufacturing and assembly are managed safely, effectively, within budget and to achieve sales demand.
*Ensuring that storage of raw materials, work in progress and finished goods are done so safely, effectively, within budget and to satisfy customer demand.
*Ensuring that maintenance of all processes, utilities and site infrastructure is done so safely, effectively and within budget.
*Establishment and maintenance of effective safety, quality, environmental and security management systems to the standards specified at the time by the business.
*Responsible for the security of all products, assets, and personnel on the RCW site.
*Responsible for ensuring that sufficient human resources are available to meet the requirements of the site, that they are trained and periodically assessed as being competent in the role(s) that they fulfil.
*Responsible for preparing and submitting annual budgets, including CAPE, monitoring expenditure on an on-going basis and exercising control over expenditure as is necessary to achieve targets.
*Responding to out of hours incidents that occur on the RCW site. To undertake any other reasonable duties as requested by the Commercial Director or a member of the Senior Management Team.
*Engineering / Management Degree (NVQ Level 5 in Management), or alternatively, sufficient experience to demonstrate the required competencies.
*NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety or suitable alternative
*Minimum 5 years' experience working in a hazardous installation in a comparable middle management role with safety responsibilities and Functional / Process Safety.
*National Skills Academy Process Safety Management for Operations or Foundation
*Site Emergency Incident Controller and Main Site Controller.
