We are currently recruiting for a Sen Teacher to support a young person with special needs on a 1-1 basis within the CB2 area of Cambridge, for various educational activities indoors and outdoors that suits the young person and parents.
The young person has a complex range of needs. He has difficulties with his expressive and receptive speech, language and communication needs. He is currently non-verbal in both of the languages with which he is familiar. The young person has considerable needs in the area of social communication and social interaction reflected in a diagnosis of ASD. He is non-verbal and needs one on one support for his education. His low levels of communication and sensory issues lead to behavioural issues as well, whereby we see defiance to carry out certain tasks like writing, colouring or joining puzzles. He needs to learn some mode of communication for him to effectively lead his daily life.
The teacher needs to have SEN experience of autism.
Timings preferred are 9am - 10.30am daily initially, but hours will rise once the young person is engaging.
